Loving someone with anxiety can pull you into a helper role that quietly exhausts you. Support matters—and so do your limits.
Be a teammate, not a therapist
Ask what helps in the moment: quiet company, a walk, or help naming the worry. Avoid jumping straight to fixing unless they ask. Afterward, check in with yourself—did you override your own needs to keep the peace?
Compassion without boundaries becomes resentment.
Couples or individual therapy can give both of you language for reassurance that soothes without trapping either person in a cycle of worry and rescue.
